Jeleze Hattingh M SC, CFA, CMT
Jeleze has been in the financial services industry since 2002, holds a M.Sc. (Cum Laude) in Business Mathematics and Information Science and is both a CFA and CMT charter holder.
She has joined Southchester Investment Managers in 2020 as a portfolio manager and jointly manages Southchester’s fixed income portfolios and investment products. Jeleze specializes in the fixed income and alternative investment (property and preference share) universe, with a focus on risk management.
She started her career focusing on risk management and financial engineering within investment banks both locally and abroad, working for institutions such as Absa, Standard Bank, Credit Suisse (UK) and Deloitte (UK). In 2008 she returned from London to the South African asset management industry and joined Allan Gray in Cape Town. Jeleze spent the next 12 years in the traditional South African asset management industry before she left for a sabbatical through East Africa in 2019. At that stage, the majority of the multi-asset funds that she co-managed ranked in the top 10% of their respective categories on a rolling three-year period, whilst the Multi-Asset High Equity Fund won the Raging Bull Award for top performance at the time.
